A top-rated cat attraction is a must-see if you’re ever in Szczecin, a city in northwest Poland. The medieval area is home to the Pomeranian Duke’s Castle, a castle from the 14th century, and Kasprowicza Park, a lovely urban park. However neither of these places is the most sought-after attraction at the top of the list. Instead, it’s a feral cat by the name of Gacek who is renowned for his endearing character and love of sweets.
The cute tuxedo cat has been residing on Kaszubska Street in the heart of Szczecin for the past ten years. He lives in a little wooden house with a cushion bed to shield him from the elements. The proprietors of a nearby shop look after him. Gacek, whose name means “long-eared bat,” spends the most of the day relaxing on the pavement and taking photographs with stray travelers.
This black-and-white cat has also his own page on Google Maps. There he has a long list of five-star testimonials from visitors who have come from near and far to see him. Here are some of the reviews you can find on his Google maps profile:
- “I flew from Oslo with transit in Gdańsk to see Gacek”
- “Fantastically handsome and superb fellow, Gacek graced us with his presence. We were humbly in awe of His Magnificence.”
- “As expected, he didn’t pay any attention to me which made the experience fully wholesome. If I could have a dinner with anyone in the world, I would fly again in an instant to feed him. Can recommend!”
Gacek has a full figure, which is perhaps one of his most distinguishing features. This is partly because of the numerous treats that his passionate followers give him. Despite the fact that many people find Gacek’s fatness endearing, an animal sanctuary in Szczecin has asked visitors to place food in bags or containers for him to enjoy later rather than feeding Gacek directly. Gacek should have a long and healthy life so that more people can get to know this cute tuxedo cat.
