One of the most challenging parts of traveling is having to leave your kitties behind. However, Dan and Olivia, a couple from New York City are able to take their three cats on excursions all over the world. Sponge Cake, Mocha, and Donut, the cute felines, seem to enjoy being outside and to feel at ease in crowded places.
These affectionate kittens have traveled far and wide, from walking through Times Square to relaxing in front of the Louvre in France. Even if they now appear completely at ease in their surroundings, it didn’t come effortlessly.
During the summer of 2020, just in the middle of the epidemic (How to protect your cat from corona virus), Dan and Olivia adopted all three cats and gradually made them feel comfortable outdoors. Donut is a British Shorthair, while Sponge Cake and Mocha are Scottish Folds, a breed that can be identified by its little folded ears.
Dan and Olivia frequently take pictures of the cats in front of their present location while wearing a bow or sweater on share them on Instagram. They keep their cats on a leash and in a harness when they’re out and about to prevent escapes. After they are finished moving about, they enjoy the warmth of Dan’s kitty backpack. Dan acknowledges, “We get a lot of chuckles, grins, and interest. A lot of people approach us and just say hello, which is always enjoyable.
However, traveling with cats requires planning. Before travelling you must obtain certificates from the veterinarian stating that your cats are fit to fly (How to Fly With Your Cat) and have the required vaccines before boarding an airplane. Sponge Cake, Mocha, and Donut can fortunately ride beneath the seat and stay close to Dan and Olivia because they each weigh less than 22 pounds. In some cases this means that they need to purchase an additional seat to make room for their third cat. This wonderful family proves that all of their efforts are worthwhile when they’re able to remain together in strange and exciting areas.
