This Cafe In Japan Is Dedicated To Black Cats

Coffee, cats, and books for a very good purpose!
It is a fact that in many places, cats enjoy the recognition they deserve. Nekobiyaka is a cafe in the province of Himeji, Japan. In this cafe, there are at least 10 wonderful black cats who will welcome the visitors. Although there are a lot of cat cafes in Japan, Nekobiyaka is the only one dedicated to black cats.
The main idea is that people can drink their coffee with black cats and if they want they can adopt one or more. Since 2013 the owner and cat lover Mrs. Yagi has found homes for more than 30 cats. There are currently 11 black cats in the cafe to spend time with for around $9.5 / hour.
When you’re not playing with the cats, you can enjoy your coffee or browse through the cafe’s collection of comics and magazines.
Unfortunately, the pandemic hit Nekobiyaka mercilessly and very few people visited the cafe during the last year. Ms. Yagi considered closing it, but it was her love of cats that prompted online help, and people responded by offering more than $10,000 in donations to keep it alive!
