We\’re introducing you the first cat cafe in Athens, Greece! Cat cafes can be found all over the world, but there haven\’t been any in Greece until now.

In Greece, about 2 million stray cats roam the streets. That\’s why it\’s one of the countries with the largest stray cat populations in Europe. Despite this struggle with homeless cat overpopulation, there is no cat café in Greece.

The Mission Of The Catcafe.gr

Dimitris and Natalia left their jobs in order to open the first Athenian cat cafe. They believe that through this unique space they could cultivate a new cat-loving culture in the city. They are on a mission to bring the joy of cat cafes to the city of Athens and make a meaningful difference in the lives of both cats and cat lovers.

Cat Café GR will be a cozy and comfortable space designed with both cats and humans in mind. It will feature ample seating areas, cat-friendly furniture, and a meticulous focus on cleanliness. The mission of the Cat Café GR is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can escape the daily grind, and bask in the affectionate presence of kitties.

However, the vision goes beyond merely establishing an enjoyable environment. Cat Café GR aims to make a meaningful contribution to addressing the problem of homeless cat overpopulation in Greece.

How Did Cat Café GR Started

In 2015, Natalia and Dimitris visited a cat cafe in Seoul, and it left a lasting impression on both. It was a small café on an upper floor, located in a bustling area of the city. You could sit on the floor with games, and the cats would come to you for petting. Later, they visited more cat cafes in Europe, and the idea evolved: \”We will create a cat cafe adapted to Greek conditions\”.
