He started recording the initial months of a kitten\’s life. Jacobi has created a time-lapse video tracking the growth of a kitty. The outcome is both adorable and enlightening.

The video features a black and white cat named Tuxedo. To monitor the cat\’s development, Jacobi opted to take photos of the kitty every 3-4 days. He started when the cat was merely 5 days old. In the initial images, the tiny feline needed support, as it could barely maintain an upright position on its own. By the end of the first month, the fluffy cat was ready for the camera and could strike poses independently. To construct the time-lapse sequence, Jacobi meticulously aligned all the kitten\’s photos in Photoshop, ensuring that the cat\’s head remained in the same position throughout the video.

How A Kitty Grows Up

Beyond the charm of witnessing a kitten\’s maturation, the video also offers insights into how cats undergo changes during the early stages of life. Notably, Tuxedo\’s eyes transition from black to blue before settling into a warm shade of grey. His soft Maine Coon fur begins to grow, and even his whiskers seem to transform.

Jacobi continued to document Tuxedo\’s growth until the 95th day when the kitten found a forever home. His new house is hundreds of miles away from the photographer. Fortunately, Tuxedo\’s siblings were adopted by families in the same area as Jacobi, allowing him to continue documenting their lives and persist with this project.
